Project Description
This extensive remodel transformed a 1934 home with elevated design, improved functionality, and thoughtful details tailored to the homeowners. The kitchen, main-floor bathroom, primary bath, and even unused attic space; now a cleverly concealed laundry room, were completely reimagined to create beautiful, highly functional spaces that feel at home within the existing house. Creative solutions were essential throughout, from removing an abandoned four-story chimney and correcting hidden structural deficiencies with concealed steel beams to navigating challenging rooflines and integrating new spaces. Custom cabinetry, luxury appliances, handcrafted tilework, timeless finishes, and carefully considered details bring cohesion throughout the home. The result pairs the craftsmanship and character of an established home with the comfort, function, and design of modern living.

• Expanded chef’s kitchen with custom inset cabinetry, luxury appliances, wet bar, and integrated dog-bowl niche. • Concealed structural steel improvements correcting previously hidden deficiencies and supporting the reconfigured kitchen. • Removal of an abandoned four-story chimney running through the center of the home, creating space for the reimagined kitchen layout. • Original-inspired arched openings with seamlessly feathered and refinished oak flooring. • Curbless main-floor shower featuring a hand-laid olive tree mosaic. • Hidden second-floor laundry room carved from previously unused attic space, accessed through a custom concealed door crafted from original hallway cabinetry. • Spa-like third-floor primary bath with custom rift-sawn oak cabinetry and dual operable roof windows framing Mt. Rainier views. • Walk-in tiled primary shower thoughtfully designed around the home’s challenging roofline, with tile extending up the angled ceiling.
